A mother let her little girl dye her hair pink, but the reasoning behind her decision will warm your heart.
When Nevaeh asked her mom if she could dye her hair last year, she would always say no. But Rachel Ann Carpenter had a change of heart when something terrible happened.
After an accident at her summer camp, Nevaeh had suffered burns to over 70 per cent of her body. She was scarred all over. According to Rachel Ann, her daughter could have perished in the accident.
It was this incident that taught her a valuable lesson – life is “too short to say no all of time.” So, when Nevaeh asked her mom if she could dye her hair this time round, Rachel Ann gave a resounding yes.
“This time last year she asked me if she could have pink hair and I said no. A few days later at a camp they were doing a demonstration involving fire and something went wrong and it caught her on fire,” she said on a Facebook post. “She had horrible burns over 70 per cent of her body.”
As a result, many were affected by the mother and daughter’s heartbreaking yet heartwarming story. Many mother’s showed solidarity with Rachel Ann by posting photos of their children with dyed hair.
One browser commented on the amazing story and showed off her own child. “She looks amazing. Bless her heart!!! Good job Mom!!!” she said. “I have done pink hair on my daughter several times. This was when she was five. It’s hair. Life is supposed to be fun.”
Rachel Ann took a valuable lesson from her experience with her daughter. She said, “that experience taught me you never know how much time you have left, with anyone. So say yes more often, and don’t care if anyone thinks your child with pink hair is ridiculous!!”
