Nicole and Wesley Bedwell found out they were expecting their first child right around the time Wesley was deployed to serve over seas. Stationed over 7,000 miles away in Japan, that left Nicole alone in their Texas home to take maternity photos by herself. But thanks to some quick thinking and thoughtfulness on the part of local photographer Traci Fugitt of Traci Lynn Photography, Nicole wasn’t really alone.
Traci expertly worked in props and photos of Wesley to not only include him in the shoot but to pay tribute to his hard and courageous work in the military. Nicole brought pictures and memorabilia including dog tags to the photo shoot to show her little girl that even though daddy couldn’t be present he is never far away.
But photographer Fugitt had another idea, one which she kept hidden from Nicole until the big reveal. She asked both mom to be and her deployed husband to pose with an outstretched hand. “I put them side by side to show the difference between the locations in different countries,” said the photographer.
The resulting photos are simply stunning and truly capture the love this couple has for each other and their daughter. Nicole was induced shortly after and gave birth before her original due date to a healthy baby girl on April 13. “Wesley was still deployed, and they had already bought a ticket for the first date,” Fugitt told HuffPost. “But Nicole worked for an entire day on the phone getting a new ticket to get him home.”
By a stroke of luck he made it just in time to see his first born child enter the world and snap a few real life family pics. “Even 7,000 miles away, Wesley’s love for his wife and newborn daughter is amazing.” Their photographer shared, and we really couldn’t agree more.
